"RMK-Merrill-Stevens recognizes your talent, values your ideas, and allows you to succeed."
- Alain Villa

Alain Villa's ties to Merrill-Stevens go back over 16 years. Alain first worked at the shipyard in 2004. After working his way up to become a Master Painter and Carpenter-Fiberglass Tradesman, Alain accepted a position with Motion Power Boats Factory. His love for the shipyard would bring him back to RMK Merrill-Stevens in July of 2017, and we are so happy he came back home!

"Composite and fiberglass works is not just a job, but a craft," says Alain, the RMK Merrill-Stevens Composite Department Trade Lead. As the Composite Department Trade Lead, he assigns his team projects and completes fiberglass repairs himself. Alain takes pride in his work and says that he is "humbled when a customer speaks well of the quality of work they received from RMK MS and myself."

According to Alain, "Structural repairs on vessels require time and an eye for detail." Alain strives to expedite high-quality work and stay within budget to keep customers happy and coming back again and again.

Asked what led him to join RMK MS, Alain says, "It's a great company!" He states that he likes the atmosphere and corporate culture the most. "They make you feel at home and like family – they always have your back." The three terms that Alain most associates with RMK Merrill-Stevens are "outstanding, professional, and family-oriented."

RMK Merrill-Stevens has a diverse team with a wide set of skills and past experiences. When asked about his most unusual or interesting job, Alain says that he once worked at a pig processing plant in Oklahoma for a short period of time.

One of our favorite questions to ask during each Employee Spotlight is "What has been your favorite project while working at RMK MS?" Alain's favorite project was Edonismo. Edonismo, owned by Paul Vitale, is a beautiful 58' Sirena yacht. Alain says that working with and getting to know Paul was great, and he is proud of his ability to bring the customer's ideas to life. Alain wants to continue to grow with the company and would love to "run the yard and guide new talent coming in to work at this amazing company."
