[Miami, Florida – September 28, 2021] Miami's RMK Merrill-Stevens (RMK MS) Shipyard is unveiling plans for this year's Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), which includes an exclusive media event, a unique booth design, hiring campaign, and giveaways. The RMK MS team will exhibit in Booth 715 in the Yacht Builders Tent in the Bahia Mar location of the show.
The company's presence at the show will kick off with an opportunity for media, press, and association directors to get exclusive information, interviews, and insight into what’s going on behind the scenes at Miami's RMK MS North and RMK MS South shipyards. The event will take place in Booth 715 on October 27th. Executives from RMK MS who will be available at the event include Greg Cox, Ibrahim Guldiken, Brent Allsop, Jack Haney, Rick Hambley, Jack Schneider, Chris Brittain, Sandra Lozada, Karla Lopez, Maria Varela, and Nicole Squartino. RMK MS leadership will discuss the evolution of the shipyard, share recent updates, detail the ongoing hiring campaign, and more.
“We are excited to share about the many updates that have been made to both the RMK MS North and South yards with the world,” says Greg Cox, RMK MS CEO. RMK MS North is now fully operational and a premier destination for yacht and superyacht refit, service, and maintenance. The North Yard is home to a newly commissioned 2,700LT shiplift built by Pearlson Shiplift Corporation. The lift, which is the largest with full keel capture in South Florida, is capable of lifting power catamarans and superyachts with a keel-to-keel distance of 36’. The Pearlson lift has received Lloyd’s Register Certification and USCG Certification. The South Yard, located on the opposite side of the Miami River from RMK MS North, has also received massive updates, including an expanded parts department, new workshops, and office space for strategic partners.
As the yard continues to grow, so does its staff. RMK Merrill-Stevens’ presence at the show will include opportunities for a wide range of marine industry professionals and hopefuls to join the team. RMK MS Human Resources Director Sandra Lozada will be available to discuss the ongoing Careers Campaign, meet applicants, and host on-site interviews. RMK MS has brought dozens of talented marine industry professionals to their North and South Yards in Miami’s Health District over the past two years and is seeking to hire approximately 20-30 new employees over the next several months. The company is currently seeking Welders, Electricians, Mechanics,
Carpenters, Managers, Security Guards, Painters, and others. Available careers can be viewed at https://www.rmkmerrill-stevens.com/careers.
The RMK MS Marketing Team and RMK MS South Fabricators, Carpenters, Welders, and the Graphics Division are finalizing the booth design. “FLIBS is one of the most fun and engaging shows in the world,” says RMK MS Marketing Director Nicole Squartino. “We wanted a booth design and experience for attendees that matched that,” she continues. While walking the show, RMK MS welcomes vessel owners, captains, crews, and others to stop by the RMK Merrill Stevens booth to relax, meet the team, enter drawings, and learn about Florida’s first, and now most updated, shipyard, RMK Merrill-Stevens.
There will be several giveaways for attendees, including an RMK MS Gear Pack, RMK MS gift certificate for the Ship Store or Parts Department, and additional prizes to be announced during the show.
“The booth layout resembles our newly renovated RMK MS North and RMK MS South Yards on the Miami River,” says Nicole. The booth will include a TV wall, a lounge area, an information center, and a custom-built open cocktail bar for networking with the RMK MS team and others. In attendance will be RMK MS project managers, the service team, purchasing, marketing, ship store team, and others. “Our yards bring comfort through updated amenities and nearby restaurants, convenience with its location on the Miami River, and expertise and service you can’t find anywhere else,” she continues.
The RMK MS team will also schedule refits, maintenance, and service with teams at the show. RMK MS provides a full range of services that encompasses all aspects of superyacht refits and maintenance, from welding and fabrication to bottom work to carpentry and joinery.
