The RMK MS Superyacht Center Says Goodbye to Asteria

M/Y Asteria Captain Franck Catsuris and the vessel’s crew recently left Miami and the RMK MS Miami Superyacht Center to cruise the waters around Greenland as part of an expedition organized by the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco. The departure came after receiving extensive work in a multi-month effort to repair, upgrade, and service the award-winning vessel. The project was overseen by RMK MS Project Manager Gilius Grutterink, who joined the RMK MS team in May of 2021.

About Asteria

Now a private yacht, the 161’ long vessel was originally built in 1970 as a salvage tug by Greek yard Anastassiades & Tsortanides. In 2002, the vessel was rebuilt and converted into a luxury yacht. Asteria is available for charter, and designed to comfortably travel nearly anywhere worldwide, including both North and South Poles. The yacht carries two custom-built tenders, is helicopter capable and stores a large selection of smaller watercraft.

Asteria continues to gain attention and accolades, and was recently named the 2022 BOAT International World Superyacht International Voyager Award winner. “The award is a testament to the vessel’s capability to cruise anywhere,” Gilius states. “It’s truly a one-of-a-kind superyacht.” You can track Asteria’s adventures around the world by following the official Asteria Instagram page at @asteria_yacht_explorer.
